Brunswick West Maternal and Child Health Centre Building Refurbishment

The project involved a range of building restoration, upgrade and landscaping works designed to enhance both the internal and external environments. Heritage maintenance works included pressure washing the terracotta roof to remove lichen build-up, repointing roof mortar joints and repairing the existing heritage brick spoon drain.

Internal improvements focused on modernising the facility, including restumping the kitchen floor, installing new vinyl flooring, upgrading kitchen appliances, repainting the kitchen and replacing the internal switchboard.

Externally, the project delivered a new pergola and roof structure, upgraded entry pathways with concrete paving and brick edging, new garden beds, hydro-seeded landscaped areas and a complete repaint of the building exterior.

The completed refurbishment has refreshed and extended the life of the centre, providing a welcoming and well-maintained environment for local families accessing maternal and child health services within the Merri-bek City Council community.
