Ivanhoe Grammar School – Glenn College Project

The project supports Ivanhoe Grammar School’s unique approach to Year 9 learning, where students are immersed in a university-style environment designed to foster independence, critical thinking, and real-world learning experiences. As part of this program, students attend dedicated learning spaces within Glenn College, a residential college at La Trobe University, where they undertake regular classes and engage with university facilities and culture.

The refurbishment transformed the space into three Year 9 student classrooms, two acoustically treated music rooms, a health centre, teachers’ offices, a front reception, and staff kitchen facilities.

Works included architectural design development, services engineering, custom joinery, upgraded mechanical air conditioning systems, integrated audiovisual teaching displays, seating, and an operable wall system to support flexible learning configurations.

Delivered within a live environment, the project required careful planning and coordination to minimise disruption to students and surrounding building occupants, ensuring continuity of operations throughout the works.
